Default new transmission install help

i have a 2004 ford F150 5.4 that the transmission went out on. So i purchased a brand new transmission. When i installed the new transmission it was pushing tight against the engine that wasnt making the starter able to turn but when we loosen the bottom bolts on the tranny it starts but wont move. Pleaze help

sounds like you don't have the converter seated on the input shaft. slide it back and make sure it is right.

someone want to refresh my memory on this.... on. quarter turn till it drops back and another till it seats all the way back?

it has been a long time since I have had to swap out a transmission and I've never done a Ford, so make sure you check a manual or other reliable source on how to set the converter on the input shaft.
