So Im thinking about buying some 35x12.50x17 nitto trail grapplers on some 17x9 fuel hostages with a -12mm offset from a fellow member. My question is, will they fit on my 2005 STX 4x4 with a 2" level and 2" blocks in the back? It doesn't matter if I have to do a little trimming, I just don't want to chop up my truck!!!

TRUCK FROM THE FUTURE!!! Hahha..sorry had to do it. Wait, you have a 4x4 with 2" blocks in the rear? Dont all 4x4 trucks have 2" blocks in the back from the factory? I just want to see if I am missing something....

Those will not fit at all because of the backspacing of the wheels. You would need something close to factory specs..something around a +12mm to a +30mm offset I would say. Or in backspacing terms...anything about 5.25 - 6 max..even the 6" would be pushing it.

The only way you could get those to fit is with a lift 4" or 6" or a 3" body. Sorry to dash your hopes.

Wait....what is the backspacing on those wheels? If it is still 4.5" there is no way...Above I was talking about 20's but I forget if the offset to backspacing conversion is the same with 17's. I am pretty sure it is since it is still a 9" wheel.

Well I don't know, all I know is that I have way more rake then most f-150's, and I was told that I need a rim that brings the tires away from the control arm, so I thought that would be a negative??

It's lbf150's rims and trail grapplers

The backspacing is 4.52" so yeah that's it

True on the part about bringing the rim and tire away from the upper control arm BUT...since you dont have a lift (not a bad thing) you can push them out too far because them the back of your tire will rub the fender flare/side fender. You can trim if the tire rubs the lower valence under the front bumper but you cant trim much if the tire rubs the back of the wheel well. It is metal and there is a bolt that is in the way anyways. When I get home from work in 3hrs I can take a picture of exactly what I am talking about if no one can clarify what I mean or you dont understand.

Next, IBF150's wheels are an exception. I think he is running 22x11 wheels or something sick (good way) like that. Since he has a lift, he can stick them out pretty far without worrying about rubbing issues. Plus the offset is different with different sized wheels. Since he has 11" wheels the factory offset would 0" which is 6" BS. So pretty much everything from factory on down is negative offset. This is not the normal.

You just need an offset that is smaller than you have now, but you need to stay in the positive numbers. Negative offset will not work with 35" tires and not having some sort of lift (other than level). Like I said earlier, try to look for anything from +12mm to +30mm and you should be able to fit the 35's with just trimming the lower valence which you can do with a razor blade.

Oh thanks man. I have a 6" BDS kit with a 1.5" Autospring level. So 7.5" lift up front and 5" lift in back. I have 20x9 5.5" backspace Black Rhino Rockwell's with 295/65/20 (35.1 x 11.6) Nitto Trail Grapplers.

I had the same wheel/tire combo now as I did when I had just my 2.5" HBS level.
