ok, i dont understand all the 30 somethin r by another something type of tire

i want 33's idk width im open to differences, i wanna get toyo at's case i do a good bit of onroad driving and they do well, what size would the 33 be?

this link will give you a tire size conversion but if I remember right a size 285 is about 33 in

Sizing is:
Diameter/width/rim size

285 would be the tire width not height. On 285/70/r17 the 285 is the width of the tire in millimeters and the 70 is the percent of the width, so in this case 70% of 285mm is the height. The last number is your rim diameter.
