Cool New Tint and Custom Tweeters

Ok so I got tired of the 35% tint. It was really bothering me that it didn't match the back. So I ordered the pre-cut tint off of ebay, since I have never done tinting myself. And I put the 20% over my 35% tint. Needless to say its dark now. Also added some tweeters in my truck. Custom mounted them in the side of the door right about the vent and dash.

Looks good! How come you didn't put the tweeters in the door?

well since mine is an STX version, there were no precut holes in the door. STX is bone stock. So I thought I would get better sound anyways if they were up away from the other speaker so I moved them up.

How hard was it doing the tint by yourself? Those kits are so cheap I've thought about doing it by myself just to see if I could.

honestly its really easy, especially if you have two people. make sure you take the door panel off and the trim off first its much easier that way.

I'm somewhat familiar with taking the door panel off because I had to for my rear speakers, but how does the trim come off? It appears that it would literally pop out.

That should put you at about 15% tint, I double peoples up all the time. They ask me to do 20% or 35% and there not quite happy with it so instead of pulling it off it's easier to double it up the only problem I've seen with it is it makes the windows a little harder to roll up if you've got manual hand crank windows like me and boiler have.

STX doesn't mean no options. I have tweeters in my STX doors, but mine is an 08 and I have come to find out I have quite a few things that other STX's don't. I didn't order it that way, just picked it off the lot

This weekend I'm installing an Infinity 6.5" component set (w/ 1" tweets), some bass blockers on the rear speakers, and installing my precut tint while I have the panels off.

How hard was the precut to install? Did you buy a little tint application kit (like the Gila kit) or just mix up some soap and water and squeegee it with your own stuff?
