Default New throttle body

Well my actuator motor in the throttle body went out. They said they just replace the whole throttle body when that happens. The work is going to run around 600 bucks. Does that sound right? Both replacing the whole throttle body and the price?

Don't know what what motor you have, but if you have to replace it you might as well go in the right direction. That price is way too high though. With basic tools and knowledge you can replace it yourself and a throttle body itself is only in the $300 range.

The BBK units use the guts and sensor from the stock unit. So this wouldn't help. Personally I would search ebay and the local salvage yards for a good stock unit. $600 is rape! It's four bolts and two plugs to switch one out.

Somebody is an idiot. Disconnect the battery as should always be done when removing and replacing electrical parts and have at it. You will need a 1/4 drive ratchet with a #8 (for the battery cable) and a #10 for the air box and throttle body.
