Default New paint.

Well, got hit by a drunk driver. He ran off. Needless to say,my entire truck ended up getting repainted, except the roof. Question is,
How long do I wait to wax it?
They completely washed and detailed the whole truck for me already. But,is there a set length of time to wait?

I'm not a professional painter but I always drive them a good month and let the paint get hard before I wash and wax. I let it cure, your outer coat dries first but you can still smudge the paint with a little effort. The top coat is hard to the touch but you can move it much like putting tint on a window. Kinda hard to describe, I've never painted one in cold weather though, just the summer. Like I said though, I'm no professional.

I think I waited a month. Call the shop that did the work.

hm... read in the auto book from pepboys about the F150 that it takes 2 weeks for it to fully dry... but ask the person that painted it for you

wait at least a month in a half to two months because cleaning detergents and waxes tend to have harsh chemicals that can eat and destroy fresh clear coat. and if it eats your clear in one tiny spot then the base coat will be affected and you'll end up needing to repaint in another year

a month is safe. it wont eat your paint or make holes in it unless youre using lava soap and acid to wash your truck, its simply to prevent scratching or marking becuase its still somewhat soft.
