Default New oil pressure gauge - will it mess up the PCM?

I want to get an A-pillar gauge mount for a boost and oil pressure gauge. The boost gauge is simple enough. The oil pressure gauge will be electric. I'm deployed right now and don't have the truck or the Chilton's manual in front of me. How exactly does this get installed? Do I have to disconnect the factory idiot gauge? Will the PCM still know what the oil pressure is, or will I get constant CELs?

I think there is an unused port in the oil filter mounting bracket. I think you should be able to just tap I to it there and it won't affect anything else.

There's a plate you can install behind the oil filter that has a few ports for a pressure guage. I forget where I saw it, and I don't know how effective it is, but it was simple to put on. Just screw it on the, then screw the filter on the plate.
