Default New motor w/50k miles

Behave a new motor since 2012 and I've put 50k mikes on it and I just went from motorcraft 5w-20 to 5w-30. Anyone see anything wrong with it because I'm just trying to prolong the engine life?

There are hundreds of pages of 5w-20 vs 5w-30 in the 5.4. Basically I'll sum it up, some say run 30 it quiets the motor ticking and is better, others say run 20 it's what ford recommends and is critical to the motor running correctly. Neither can prove it one way or the other. A lot run both and seem to be happy.

And to add to the ever running looooong debate, some countries do not sell 5w-20 (don't know why), so Ford (and others) state that they use 5w-30.

I have a friend in Germany who just bought a new Mustang GT over there; 5w-30 oil. Same car here comes with 5w-20.

Whichever oil you pick, use a FL-820 Motorcraft filter (my choice...good, and inexpensive) and service regularly. If you decide to delve into the subject of 5w20 vs 5w30, remember this: most people don't come to message boards to rave about how well their oil works. Most will complain that viscosity x was better than viscosity y. Understand that most internet threads on oil are ripe with anecdotal evidence. If you're really torn up about the subject, pick an oil, and run it for a couple of changes. Have an oil analysis done, and go from there. That will help you decide if you picked the right oil.
