Not necessarily true. Especially if you are replacing an engine.

I'd have to agree that these motor mounts are built to last a lifetime and they are probably not the issue..

This issue sounds vague as mentioned, but I'd lean towards a misfire, or maybe a vacuum leak fir a quick guess.. More info and a better description of how it actually drives would help us help you OP...

exactly... not sure how the mechanic would know of a misfire without a scan or flashing CEL

Well this guy has been giving me different reason why my truck is not ready yet. And it's probably better if I took it to someone else. It's been at his shop for 3 weeks already.

2004 and newer f150's (I believe up to 2008-2009) have many complaints of motor mounts broken or defective. There was even talk of a TSB regarding the motor mounts, although I had never taken the time to check. I'm sure you could read up on it yourself.

That being said, if one is removing an engine and putting a new one in, it would be foolish to think that a motor mount could not be compromised, seeing it is a fairly common problem and such an overhaul recommends new motor mounts to be installed.

Is that enough clarification or do I need to get real specific?

Get real specific. I don't know if I'd say it's a "fairly common problem" with this generation.

You definetly need to be more specific if your going to convince me that you have a clue as to what your saying. Unless your definition of "common" has a different meaning.
