Default New member from NC with a question

Just picked up an 05 crew cab lariat and the kid that owned it tinted the taillights and fog lights with vht nightshades. I used goof off and was able to remove it but it burnt the lenses...you know, that white residue.Well, I have tried mothers, purple power with a textured sponge, and wax to get off the residue but nothing is working...any ideas? Want to get this figured out before I ruin my fog lights!!!

You might be able to water sand it with a very high grit sandpaper

That's what I was thinking was the next step but wanted to make sure there wasn't some easy cleaning for solution that would take it right off....what do you think. ...1500 or 2000 grit?

Welcome from a fellow carolina guy. You could try some of the headlight restoration paste. The blue stuff you rub on and rub off.

That was on the list anyway because the headlights are starting to dull and have some pitting...I'm gonna wet sand and use that stuff to polish all the lenses....Previous owner tinted the windshield 20%.....I love it during the day but at night........I ordered lifetime led headlight and fog lights and getting these lenses straight should help....if not,it's gotta go.....
