Hey guys, I am new to this forum so please excuse me if this topic has already been posted, which I am sure that it has. I havent got the hang of navigating this forum yet or I wouldnt post this. I bought a 2007 F-150 STX with a 4.6l a couple of months back. I gotta say I am hooked to my f-150 (chose it over a 5.7 hemi powered dodge.) Anyways, so I now have money for an exhaust. The question(s) is flowmaster or magnaflow, what size piping, a X pipe, straight pipe, or H pipe? I clearly want a good, loud sounding truck, but I dont want to lose torque. Any suggestions? Let me know what you all think based on your experience. Thanks.

Welcome aboard! Glad to have you here.

Here is what I'll suggest, even though you will no doubt get some responses here.

At the top of this forum you'll see a "search" tab (button). Click it, then search on keywords like exhaust, or CAI (cold air intakes), or tuners as examples. select this forum to search on, then be prepared to read hundreds of posts on these! They are very common topics, and come up at least twice a month. Some folks skim over them because of that. It's not that anyone is ignoring you on purpose.

Again, glad to have you on the site!

Flowmaster IMO but in all reality, best bet is to try and hear them on similar trucks. Try friends and shops to see if they have any, and if you want to you can always search Youtube for sound. Performance wise none will REALLY stand out over the others. I have Flowmaster 44 straight pipes and I love how it sounds.

Talking

i prefer a magnaflow but "to his, his own" we say that a lot on here it basically means its personal preference. My exhaust is just cut from the stock muffler back and then i stuffed a magnaflow muffler on there with a pipe coming out before the rear tire and its plenty loud for me. I love it!
You can youtube a bunch of vids on exhausts also

Welcome to the forum bro. You'll love this site, im addicted ahahahahaaa
