Default New to me F150

Hi All, this is my first post here. I had been looking for a truck for a few months now. My wife and I bought a house a year or so ago and have needed a truck on almost a weekly basis since. This is my first F150, but not my first Ford product. I owned a 2000 Ranger XLT stepside 4x4 at one point. Anyway my neighbor sold us a 2004 F150 supercab STX. It is silver, pretty much plan jane truck. It has the adjustable pedals, towing package, and sliding rear window. That is pretty much all the options. I would have liked to find one with power windows and locks but I could not pass this one up. It has 56k miles on it 1 owner, which happens to be my older neighbor. I got it for $11k. I think I got a pretty good deal even though it is about at kbb pricing, considering the low mileage and I know the owner. Also has new tires on it which is a plus too. Anyway this is my short(ish) introduction. I look forward to many more posts.

Welcome. I have an '06 STX and just turned 163k with no issues at all. What motor do you have? Mine is the 4.6l

4.6 as well. From my research this is the only engine offered int he STX for 04 and possibly 05. I am fine with that. I basically need a truck that will seat 4 and be able to haul crap to my house. I like to hear how you have put 163k miles on yours with no major issues. I plan to keep this truck until it dies. Granted I may get another DD vehicle, but this one will help out a ton around the house.

Yep. Do your regular maintainance and it should be good. Did an alternator at 160k and an o2 same time. I drive mine daily for work in the blistering AZ sun. Best truck by far.

I will post pics once everything is finalized. My neighbor is waiting for the title to come back from his bank. So technically it is not MY truck yet, we are waiting on the title (which they said should come sometime this week)... Only thing it needs right now is a bedliner. At some point I would like to get a roll on liner but as money allows a drop in is probably the direction I am going.

The 4.6 is a good motor, my dads has close to 300,000 with no problems.

Finally got the truck. Still can't drive it until Tuesday when I go to the DMV to get it registered.
