Default New to me 2005 FX4 Owner!

I was finally able to purchase a crew cab 4x4 and ended up with a 2005 FX4. I'm so excited to finally have one. The first thing I did was get the stereo system upgraded. I just ordered a brush guard and will have a leveling kit installed on it Friday.

I really want to look at getting a new exhaust system installed, but I'm not sure what to get. I don't want it to sound overboard, but I do want it to sound like a truck.

Also, there doesn't appear to be many options for a replacement grill on this model. Does anyone know of any options that look good? I really like the saleen grill but can't seem to find one anywhere.

Welcome to the forum- Great looking truck! What setup did you go with for your sound system?

Sony XAV-65 stereo
4 x Memphis Audio 6x8 door speakers
Clarion XC-1410 amp to push door speakers
2 x Rockford Fosgate 10" subs
Rockford Fosgate 1500w amp to push subs

So far I'm happy with the sound quality. I'm used to having bigger subs so the 10's don't quite do it for me, but there's not much you can do with such limited space.

do you have a custom box under your rear seat? I actually found that pioneer has shallow subs, ended up finding some 12s, they are called pioneer "premiers". Just a thought if you were wanting bigger. But you have a decent setup! is your deck a single or double-din?

Your truck would look even more sweet with a leveling kit and some bigger tires!

I let the guy at the stereo shop talk me into the 10's. He said with the small enclosure the 12's would be a waste of money. He thought the 10's would sound better and actually be able to be pushed to their potential.

I'm getting the leveling kit installed Friday. Rims and tires will come later. I'm having a difficult time deciding on those.

Nice looking truck. I like the FX4 package, but then again I am one of the few that still likes chrome...

I would first get those front windows tinted. Borla exhaust is one of the best in my opinion. That will be what goes on mine one of these days...

Here is my thread similar to yours. You can see what I have done. Ebay has just about every kind of grill for our trucks. I got one off of there and sold mine on CL for a total of 5-10 bucks spent. Also I did replace my headlights. So far they have been great.

The box was custom built for this make and model truck. The box was built to hold 2 10's that fire down and has max mounting depth of 5.5". I was going to get 2 shallow mount 12's but the guy at the audio store didn't have anything good to say about the shallow mount subs. Excuse the grass in the truck. I've been hauling kids back and forth to practice. The deck is a double din sony dvd player.

What brand grille is that? Every grill I look at that I like says it doesn't fit the fx4 model truck with the h-bar style grille.
