Just purchased an 04 screw with 100k. Truck seems pretty solid. No loud tick like my last 04. The only thing I notice is the whine from 45-55mph which after reading many threads is most likely a pinion bearing. I plan on flushing the tranny fluid which looks and smells just fine and also changing the transfer case fluid and rear end fluid. Main question is just how bad is this whine issue? Do I have all the bearings replaced while they have the rear end open? I have read some threads that say their rear end has made the whine for 10s of thousands of miles with no issues. I only put 10k miles a year on and really don't want to drop 500 plus on all new bearings in rear end now if it's generally not a huge issue. Suggestions? Thanks!
