Default New manifolds or switch to headers???

Hey guys,
My truck hasthe dreaded manifold leak around the gasket on the passenger side. Whats the best way to go for this type of repair? Are the OEM manifolds better than any aftermarket that will not crack again in another 30k? Or is the a better lasting aftermarket? Also Im curious is headers is even the better way to go??

You won't see any performance increase with headers. They just change the sound.

I don't think you understand what headers do. They most certainly make a difference in power across both bands and where the peak occurs.

However it is more work to do it as shorties are limited in increases and and it would not force you to do both sides. This drives the cost up for minor gains.

Long tubes require major modifications and reprogramming.

Unless you plan on other mods to take advantage of the free flow then it is not worth the time and effort.

Didn't notice a bit of change when I put my headers on. Just more sound in the cab.

Actually the original manifolds weren't even leaking, so I thought I'd be solving a problem before I even had it by being proactive and getting headers, but the shop that put them on... well you know that story already.
