New issue discovered after resolving old issue
Hey Guys,
Over the weekend I fixed an ongoing issue I had with the truck ticking. I discovered that when I got my plugs changed last year either they didn't tighten them back down to the require 25ft lbs or they had come loose. The back two spark plugs on each side were extremely loose. I loosened all of them and tightened all of them back down to the recommended 25ft. lbs.
About a day or so after doing this I started noticing that the truck at around 50ish mph when it kicks in to OD that the truck starts bucking like crazy. I have checked the electrical connections on the COPs, retuned the truck and cleaned the MAF and changed the oil and ran Lucas through the fuel system. At this point I am kind of stumped. My only two remaining thoughts could be that those back spark plugs could be damaged and I am just now seeing the effects of it now that everything is back to like it should be. OR I have a COP that is going bad. The crazy thing is that I have no codes at all coming up. Any of you have experience with this?
Thanks

re-torque them down, without loosening them off. You may have fouled a plug if they were running loose for a while.
Also, the COPs can be a bit fragile. If one is going to go out, it will happen while you are removing them. I would drive it and purposely try to make it misfire until you get a code. You need to misfire X number of times per minute to get a code.

That code is for a cylinder 4 misfire (the "last" back passenger plug) it's either a cop or a plug issue.. Judging by the problem you described, I would replace not only cylinder 4's plug, but also cylinder 8's plug for good measure.. Cylinder 8 is your driver side rear (last) plug...
