Luche, if you follow this feller's advice, after all of the inaccurate BS already posted, you've got some serious issues, yungin'.

Please don't do this.

I looked at that page for the retrofit projectors and I had no idea what I was looking at. When it comes down to headlights I don't know squat about projectors. Maybe you could give me some pointers on which projectors are pretty good, also where are guys getting the halo rings and all that good stuff?

Sometimes you have great advice, I seen you on the other F-150 forum. But remember, these are people trucks they can do what they want whether they heed your advice or not - or your recommendations.

What I am doing is not a fail, it's what I am doing. If it's a fail in your eyes, so be it. HID's DO work in my aftermarket headlights, are they 100% clean? No. But they work for me. Do the hi-beams have a pattern because of the reflector housing they sit in? They sure do. But they work for me.

I still have stock stock headlights sitting in my garage for a swap. But I prefer these aftermarket housings over them, I will run the stock again while I do a complete retrofit on these aftermarket ones - albeit getting some of my parts from theretrofitsource and then skimping on a few going chinese as the difference is null.

I follow ecotint on instagram, to me there is no better retrofitter in the game. I don't need to heed your advice when I see what perfection is every post he does.

For now I have a temporary solution that works FOR ME. Keep plugging websites, your good at that.

On oem f-150 headlights there is a single bi-xenon (?) bulb that has both hi-low. I am assuming you have aftermarket headlights?

You'll have to buy another set of ballasts and wire harness. On mine I had to dremel these little nubs around the plastic of the bulb and the plastic itself. Took some attention to detail in the housing but I got them to seat perfectly and snug. If you have already setup your low beams you'll need to extend the power line on the new harness, as your primary connection is going to be coming from the driver side, basically like if you've already harnessed your low-beam, just reverse.

So, "what works for you", yet blinds every oncoming driver is OK?

As others have stated, please don't do this -- it is dangerous to other drivers who literally cannot see for a few seconds after this type of aftermarket conversion has completely night-blinded them.

If the HID is put into a projector housing and properly adjusted it doesn't blind oncoming drivers.. if you put it in a reflector housing it's ridiculous beam spread and I understand that.

If you read my post and not edit the whole thing maybe you'll understand what I am saying'

"Just don't put HID's straight in stock headlights without a projector of any sort.. "

Glad to hear you understand some of the ramifications.................I just see too many ham handed conversions to HID's and my old eyes just can't take many of them. I can't wait for some maroon to try Audi's new Laser headlights in a stock housing, you know?

I see them a lot on these 'ricer' type cars out here in southern California. I am not going to lie, I put HID's in my stock housings as a 'quick' result.. ya.. it was bright but I was blinding the world.

I basically tested on myself I walk about 5 houses down (california spread houses) and the lights were blinding me.. so if they were blinding me, they were blinding everyone else.

I then went back to halogen and ordered headlights that had a projector.. aftermarket. I still have seen some beautiful projector lamps - lexus, bmw, etc. that have CLEAN cutoffs and wide vision. My aftermarket doesn't have that, yet. They do however, allowed for HID conversion (I know melting, not-so-crispy beam spread).. but they DON'T blind people. It's a sacrifice I've made till I can invest $500~ (new switchback halos 4x, 4x slim quickstart ballasts, 4x new projectors, + I wanna get etching on them for cool factor) and do them properly.
