Default New guy here! question about running boards for GTR package

My first post. I have an '05 GTR package and would like to add running boards. I've used search on this forum and can't find any mention of the GTR package. The glass/plastic lower cowl, drops about 4 inches below the frame. Has anybody successfully added boards to this package?

The truck accessory store in Ocala says it can't be done. I think otherwise, but yield to ye experts.

Thanks in advance,

This is my first time ever seeing one of these GTR packages myself. I’m not sure if any members on here have one.

never heard of that package so i wouldnt know. most running boards will only fit if you dont have any side skirts or anything you would call it.

I installed factory side bars on my truck, and this is my opinion. I dont think its going to work. Here is my theory: Once you mount the brackets underneath the truck, the runningboards wont mount onto the brackets, because your ground effects will be in the way. If it works, it will be a tight fit and probably wont look good. My boards hang about 2 to 3 inches below the door.

Truck looks good, if it was mine, I would probably take that "GTR" Sticker. But thats me. Its your truck, do it up how you want.
