I haven't repaired a lot of rear diffs, but I've blown 3 of them, and I know that sound you're describing very well. If it doesn't do away within the next few days, I'd go back and demand they at least drain and inspect your gear oil. If there's a problem... the fluid should confirm. If they refuse, hire an attorney.

Best of luck to you. I'd LOVE to regear... especially with True Trac. Let us know how you like the True Trac when everything gets settled. Also, if you don't mind, I'm really interested in what it costs to regear with the Detroit diff.

So after three checks on the spec's, the whine is still there. Little less, but still there. Its only on deceleration between 40 and 30mph. Nothing i can do, so i'm not going to stress any further. The shop extended the warranty, and i know if anything goes wrong they will stand by it.

Other than that, love the gears...love the True track.

I hear some gears are just noisy by nature. What brand did you get?

I'm having Yukon 4.10's installed as I type. I'm hoping I don't run into the same issue...

What weight gear oil are you running with the tru trac? What weight is called for with a tru trac? Amsoil severe gear 75-140 might help keep it quiet..
