True, though they have been daily drivers so i generally dont modify with much more than simple bolt on pieces. I have been lucky enough that Ford has not changed much on the F150 since 2004. Though in 2010 (when im sure there will be some changes) all my goodies with go on ebay!

Welcome FastFord08! I am more familiar with the chevy engines too but I guess it is because they always need fixing. I don't know anything about Ford engines because I never had any problems with them.

FastFord08,
you were saying that your experience has been with marine engines.
You have to watch out for some used trucks around here with low mileage. The truck itself was hardly used, but the engine actually went to sea.
The fishermen lease a truck and take the engine out. Then drop it into their fishing boat.
When they return it to the dealer, they hardly have any miles on it, so there don't have to pay a penalty. The truck itself is in prystine shape. Yet the engine has been running for months at a time.

On the other hand, GM's 6.0L and 8.1L are very comon engines used by marine engine builders like, Mercruzer, Indmar, and PCM. A marine retro fit would be fairly simple on these engines.
Good stuff though, thanks for the Head Up. I guess thats why the use the term, BUYER-BEWARE.

At least around Cape Breton. Like you said, the fishermen are crafty...
Atlhough one would think that there would be a mechaninc to assist them with this. With all the hozes and computer links, I don't think that you would be able to just take it out and drop it in, type of thing...
