Ty livernois I appreciate the info. But I think I'll start with a few cheaper options first.

K quick update. I have noticed that the oil filter is not a motorcraft. So in the next couple weeks I will do an oil change and replace the filter with a motorcraft. I am hoping this solves the issue thanks for the info and I will update once I've had a chance to replace the filter.

You are very welcome. The Motorcraft oil filter is a great product, but I could not see that making a noticeable difference out of honesty. Here is one way to compare manifold leak versus cam phaser issues. Cam phasers will not be as noticeable if not make zero sound at cold start up. Exhaust manifolds will tick more during cold start situations and then gradually sound better as the engine heats up because the metals expand.

Most common situation customers report is that the vehicles run and sound ok when cold, and once the engine warms up and they come to a stop the engine starts to knock, tick , rattle etc. This is because the engine warms up and then loses oil pressure at low rpm which then causes the phasers to not get the proper amount of oil.

Just some quick info to give you a heads up on comparing the 2 issues. Hopefully this will help diagnose further.

Feel free to give us a call if you would like to discuss this further. I would be glad to help!

I have been researching the Livernois lockout system for a few days now. I don't understand where all the cost is coming from on the kit? I see 2 blocks and a programmer. I want to replace my other timing components anyways but the kit for the phasers is a lot of money for few parts. Comp cams makes a limiter kit also and it's much cheaper.
