right now i have an 06 ranger reg cab. put it up on craigslist guy came and looked at it today and is buying for 8k

my dads been working on an 05 4x4 xlt arizona beige he bought wrecked,since im selling my truck and getting him out of the hole the 05 f150's gonna be mine.

excited to get a bigger nicer truck.

i have a few questions though.

how is the gas milage(my ranger was terrible 13-15mpg)
will 33's effect gas milage much? would like to get a black set of wheels and 33's in the future

whats the best exhaust set up? looking to stay cheap legal and easy.
si/do would be nice.

Congrats!

Gas mileage may be 1 mpg worse than your ranger if you've got the 5.4 You've probably got close to 33s on there stock anyways, so changing will effect mileage minimally.

Check out MBRP for some nice exaust setups, their aluminized line will cost less than getting a setup at the local muffler shop, and you can put it on in your driveway in about an hour.

thanks i wanna go with 18's and 33's. whats the best tire size 275/70/18?

yes its a 5.4 and if the gas milage is about the same im happy with that. bigger truck and more power. my ranger was small and had no power and was terrible on gas.

I got a 05 same as you with the 4.6L(under powered...kind of regret it now, but I have to deal with it now)

Highway im getting about 16MPG
City I think im down close to 10-12MPG.....

Difficult with the big truck with the small engine..
