Alright i switched over from an awful dodge dakota reg cab. The car was pretty reliable but it just wasnt me......... Made it to 290,000 miles with little issue besides basic maintanance. That is besides the point. I have upgraded to my first ford.
2004 stx reg cab with a 4.6 in it. I love the truck. I mean love the truck. Now im trying to get everyone ounce of mpg and power out of her.

This week alone i have purchased a full k and n intake system, jba shorty headers which i will be installing a dual 2,5 inch exhaust kit with eith either flowmaster 40 or 44's. and also the edge programmer, rims with nitto terra grapplers. My question is this........ With shorty headers into true dual exhayst, k$n intake system, and the edge performance module what type of horsepower gain will i increase in the truck. I will be posting pictures later this week. everything is black murdered out accessories, nerf bars tool box the works.

I just want to know if this grand i just spent is getting me 50 ponies or not

Flowmaster won't gain you any horse power or Mpg's if it's power you want I would go magnaflow.

You will def see some gains and make the truck more fun to drive but you wont be seeing 50 plus rear wheel horsepower. The Tuner is good for about 10 to 12 ish horsepower, maybe 5-15 horse from the exhaust ( mostly the headers, cat back systems are primarily for sound ) and 5 or so from the intake.

The 4.6 is a solid engine but it doesn't respond to mods like some of the other platforms do.

Personally I would go with a manufacturer that actually has dyno results. Borla, Corsa, B&B, Stainless Works, Roush and a few others post dyno results from their exhausts.

I agree. Not that there's anything wrong with the 4.6, it'll be far more reliable than the 5.4 3V, but don't expect it to perform like one.

And greetings from another former Dodge owner. I actually still own my Ram 1500 but I use it for work. Unless it's in the shop...
