Default New Exhaust Idea for my Truck...

I'm wanting something louder, but around the same tone of the Flowmaster Super 40 I have on now with SI/DO. I'm thinking about getting two of the Flowmaster Original 40's, getting an exhaust to fab up a y-pipe and then running the pipes straight out the rear with new 4" tips. What do ya'll think? Would it be much louder? I've searched and not really found the answer to my question, but more of a general thing that 2 of the original 40's would be louder than my Super 40?

Run an X instead of a y...you already have a y, to run true duals you'd need an x or and h. 40's are not as loud as 44's so if u want something louder then get the single chamber 10 series and run an x...that would be loud as hell and sound good. Hell throw some headers in there and that thing'll sound dirty

I know that you didn't mention getting a super 44 but I have one on my truck and it's pretty loud. Check out my exhaust video in my sig.

I don't really like the x-pipes...too raspy and the 44 sounds a little more raspy than the 40 to me...thinking about an H pipe and 2 original 40's. What do you guys think an exhaust shop would charge for a custom H-pipe setup and 2 original 40's with mandrel bent tubing exitting the rear of the truck?

I'm thinking an H-pipe, 2 original 40's, and a set of headers later down the road. Don't want to get a raspy sounding exhaust so I'm taking the x-pipe out of the equation, and the 44's sound a little too raspy for me as well.

What about the 10 series racing mufflers? They will be the same tone but also much louder.

It might crackle if you rev it in neutral but other than that it shouldn't. Most free flowing exhaust will do that, heck all of my setups have crackled while in neutral and revving the motor.
