does the phazer issue sound like an exhaust leak? i assume i have an exhaust leak but did a seafoam treatment and didnt see any smoke coming from manifold or exhaust.

I'm guessing so. Before I replaced the phasers, the ticking was faint. Now this ticking is loud enough to hear from 50 ft away. It sounds mechanical, but I could be wrong, considering the rest of the situation

An exhaust leak can mimic a lifter tick or can be loud...it depends on how bad the leak is.

Well the exhaust guy said he used old gaskets that he had lying around since the headers didn't come with some. Idk if I heard right, but he said they were metal gaskets? Maybe that ticking is just something flapping around

If I put a video, it'll be for the ticking noise. I can make another thread pertaining to the actual performance of the exhaust later.

Sorry I havemt gotten a video of the ticking. I've been really busy. But I got a second opinion from another shop. They think the original mechanic might have started the truck without any headers on it and damaged an exhaust valve. Says it sounds like the ticking is echoing down the header. Plus, the guy reused old gaskets, and that there's small leaks in them, but nothing loud enough to be that loud of a tick. His suggestion is to take it to the dealership and have them fully diagnose is. Said I could be lucky and maybe its just a coil pack

I always dread how my truck is treated whenever i drop it for service. I've heard guys rev the crap out of customers cars after installing exhaust. Hope that's not the case here.
