New Clarion Deck...need some help.
Hey guys, I recently installed a Clarion TV deck touch screen (VRX485VD) into my 2006 f150 crew cab. There is a long green wire that gets hooked up to the e-brake, so that you can watch movies, but only when the e-brake is on.
Does anyone know how I can bypass this, so that I can watch movies while it's in drive? I wouldn't actually be watching movies, it's more for the passengers, and the fact that I would just like to be able to have a movie playing whenever I want.
Thanks.

Google it. Type in your unit's name and model in a Google search, and start reading the forums that will come up in the search results. I easily found how I could bypass the E-brake override for my Pioneer AVIV D2 unit this way.
If it's been done, you'll find it on the electronis forums using a Google search.

I have already googled it and all kinds of crap comes up. There doesn't seem to be one right way to do it. When you did yours Bucko, what exactly did it involve? Typing a code in on the deck, or a toggle switch or something?
And I've already tried grounding it, and it didn't work.

grounding it permanately only works for older units. You can however get a switch and hook your green wire and your ground so that when you switch it, it senses the ground and lets you watch dvds.

x2 I grounded my JVC AVX-820 wire too and it works all the time. It dosent matter if the unit is old or not because the AVX-820 is a very recent item, in fact one of their latest models. So I suggest you try to ground it out again. I first grounded it out on a bolt than went back in and connected it to the ground wire on the radio wire harness. I hope this helps.

just think about this very basic..... if you were to hook into the e-brake, would it be detecting a ground, or +12v? either way, just give your wire what it wants to see. if it needs a ground, thats easy, ground to any solid ground. if it was +12v, then i would recommend splicing into the radio switched +12v feed.
