I just bought a 2010 Fusion to commute daily in, and the F150 sits. I am not too worried about because it seems that I am deployed more then I am home, and I haven't had any issues with the truck sitting so far. I have a buddy that takes them both around the block every week or so. Both parked in the garage away from the elements

Also turn on the air conditioner at least once a month. Multiple deployments are why my previous trucks A/C seals and compressor fell apart/dry rotted. Poor truck sat for as much as six months at a time because my wife didn't want to drive it.

The biggest thing I'd worry about is not getting it up to operating temp. If the truck does not reach operating temperature then you run the risk of creating sludge in your motor. I would use a really good synthetic oil and make sure the tranny gets up to temp as well....unfortunately, if you don't use it you lose it.
When it comes to rust, I found that the longer a vehicle sits, the more it rusts, especially when parked on grass...
My advice would be to drive it any chance you get and keep your truck waxed up an clean. Spray paint the frame once a year and use good gas.

Got get that motor to full operating temp and run it a bit. Carbon will be building up if you don't. Do the Italian tune up every so often-get it up to temp and run it semi-hard-long hill, etc. Get the rpms up and clean out the carbur...carbon.

Yup, thats good info. A little example of the damage short trips can do. My grandfather bought a chevy corsica brand new back in the 90's and only drove it to work and home which was less than 4 miles round trip. The car never went over 50 MPH in its life because the speed limit between work and home was 35-45. In the 10 year or so span that he drove that car he put 5 exhaust systems on it because they kept rusting out. Once he got rid of the car the first time it was taken over 50 MPH it seized the engine. All those years of never getting up to proper temp destroyed that motor inside and never properly broke it in. Of coarse thats an extreme example but goes to show what can happen regardless.

Also don't let it set if you buy cheap gas. When we put cheap gas in the lawn mower, it settles, which causes it to seperate, making it not work

2x this operating temp is important if you get it up to operating temp once a week and drive it around 10-15 miles that's enough to get rid of the condensation that will eat your exhaust and help keep all your seals lubricated like they should be and I would keep just few gallons of 91 or 93 octane (use good gas station 91 or 93 I had bad experience with little town gas station 93 octane once no fun. And add some stable in it to insure your gas doesn't gum up on you
