Default Nerf Bars

I recently got a 2007 Ford F150, scab, red.

I'm looking to get nerf bars - but I'm not looking to spend too much on em. around $200, no higher than $250ish.

I've seen a few names thrown out there - Westin, Aries, Smittybilt. I can't really be sure which is best, because it seems for every few good reviews, there's a bad one trashing it.

I was hoping to get some opinions on which ones you guys think is the best bang for your buck.

I do have a couple in mind, too:

If you have any opinions, warning, stores, whatever, please share - Thanks!

I got the 3" rounds off of Ebay for cheap. Wish I would have spent a little more and got the 4" oval. 3" is too small for a full size truck. Maybe on a Ranger, but not on an F150. Getting a no name off Ebay will probably save you about $50 to $100. Just my 2 cents

Edit: Just clicked on your links. Those are actually pretty good prices.

If you don't have $$$ to throw away (like most of us), then spend big money on performance parts and go easy on accessories. My advice is to research your favorite brands, study the specs, and search these specs on Ebay for the best deal. After all...all you do is put your feet on these bars

Do you have a screw? If so, I have some 4" factory nerfs I got off a buddies '08 when he took it back off lease. I'm putting on Bully AS-500's and got one pair for cheap so far, so I just need one more and these are up for sale. Good shape, shoot me a pm if interested at all. I know this isn't a classified, and sorry if I rubbed anyone the wrong way or if I just broke the sacred forum rules. Not being a smart *****, I just really don't know.

Nope, I have a scab. Thanks though.

And thanks everyone else. Ebay and liner sounds like a great idea - I'll check it out. I was planning on black anyways, so I have no problem with using the black liner.

Found some nice bars that are exactly what I want from a top rated seller (I try to only go with top rated, don't want to test my luck). I decided to go with the 4", too. Thanks for the tip, gforrest - I probably would have looked at the 3" and regretted not getting a bigger size for $16 more.

Thanks guys, you saved me a lot of money and possibly some disappointment with the smaller nerf bars.

Yeah, wow. My bad, I can be kinda simple at times. It was basically in the first sentence.

What year did you install the Bully AS-500's on? Was it a bolt on fit or did you have to drill? I was thinking about putting those on my 2010, but I read mixed reviews.
