Yea Flash, It's really nice when there are a lot in the area that use CB. I had a friend in Mississippi who spent All his time on the radio. That enticed more to check in. He even kept the channel clean of shall we say "potty mouths" so more people would keep the radio on during the day in their houses around their families. Daytime hours they called it The Family Channel for HBO, at night it was called Late Night Adult Cinemax after 10 PM when respectables were in bed

No worries of that on most ham bands. I really think That is why the feds don't regulate some areas of outband use. It gives those who want to play and do the "my radio I'll talk on it as I please" somewhere to go and have fun.

Huntman, Nice clean little install. You might tell Sargeek how yours performs. He might be interested in your setup. Can you tell how directional you are? How much farther can you transmit to the front and back as opposed to out the sides? And how far?

And the real questions of HAM vs CB is exactly what do you want to use it for, who do you want to talk to, along with the cost issue. You don't really want to save a little money for it to just clutter your cab and gather dust with something you really don't want to use. With that said, I still promote the HAM side

It gets decent range. Not real sure though. Depends on if I'm in the open or not, and weather (like all electronics). $50 radio, $30 whip antennas, $15 dollar Mic hangar
