Need some imput asap on these headlights
#22
This may be a stupid question but do projector headlights come with high and low beam lights? Please get back to me soon because I am thinking of buying these lights soon. Also can you guys give me as much feedback as you can on these specific headlights. I don't want to buy them and not be happy with them. Thanks.

i find that the projectors actually limit the amount of light output. The housing looks cool and everything, but it all depends on what you are going for. a friend of mine has those housings and they are sleek and nice with HID's. But not as nearly as bright as mine with HID's and the stock housing. as far as hi/low beams, my HID bulbs are h13 and they are two bulbs in one. one for hi n one for low. Normal low lights are the bright blue and when I flip the "high beams" on it goes to the stock yellow low beam. Its reversed for me, i dont know if thats supposed to happen.

The low beams use H1 lights. They are not very bright, they do not last as long as a higher quality bulb. The good news at $6 a bulb you can afford to carry a spare in the glovebox(that's what I do). I've had these lights about a year and have put one bulb in the left side(bought two when I found out how cheap they were).
For me low beam lighting isn't important... I only use my low beams when I'm in the city(street lights, etc) or passing oncoming cars on two lane highways(can't see anyways because of there flippin hid's)....... The Brights are more than bright enough. Plus the just plain look good....

Most of the time this does not concern me at all, unless it affects safety; seeing as how we all have to share the roads, I am verbal in my opinion when it comes to these issues. Lights may not fall into this catagory if you live in cities, or if you drive during daylight hours only.
But if these types of headlights "eat" bulbs, and have a lower than stock light output, why would you consider installing them?
FX4 MATT gave you a valid recomendation to stay away from them, yet you still want them; for what reason/ They are cool?
Seems like you already made your decision, regardless of what others are warning you about. It's your truck, make it what you want for sure.
If you're still up for opinions, , I'd search for a "cool" part that's functional, and operates as good or better than the original. This way, you send a message to those that manufacture parts; we want the "cool factor", but it also has to perform. Otherwise, they (manufacturers) will continue to make and sell cool, but cheap, poor working stuff. We as buyers can easily control this.

Thanks for all the input guys. Yeah I didn't know that the projectors give off less light. I don't think I'm going to buy them now. The only reason I was going to buy new headlights in the first place was. Because I took my stock headlights apart to paint them and then when I put them back in I couldn't get them to go in all the way. They are Sticking out a little now and it is really bothering me. If anyone has any ideas for me that would be great.
Thanks
