Yep truck was/is running fine. I also wonder if it could be a problem in the ignition switch itself?

Default BCM

It could be the Body Control Module. I am having similar issues. I do believe your ignition switch is where I may start first. There is a new software out called Forscan. Get one of the approved ODB2 approved dongles and you can reset your BCM or your Battery Control. I have had issues with the Battery Control. It doesn't throw any codes when even hooked up to the dealership's computer. Yet when they go into the module my vanity lights started working and my back glass was functional again. I believe on your truck the BCM has all the battery stuff programmed into it.

Default I would have that new battery load checked at parts house

Turn engine off put digital meter on battery ,turn headlights on and see how she holds charge .
Get parts house to check your alt just to rule these out . Look for loose grounds and battery connections to master link etc.
