Default need a little help/input...

Ok guys, I just put a XLT cluster in my 05 STX. All the gauges and everything work fine, but my questions arise from two things. When i open my door neither the "door ajar" or the light comes on in the cab, and the mileage doesn't display in the mileage area. Does anyone have any idea why this is? I knew I would most likely happen from reading writeups by Bucko; I just can't figure out why though. Are there some wires I could switch or something in the wiring harness to the cluster? I was hoping someone with the wiring manuals might chime in. Its not that big of an issue as it is just annoying. And how does the truck know when the door is ajar? I looked and didnt see the little button like switch between the door and the cab. Any input would be appreciated.

As to the display of the "door ajar" and such, I'm all ears; I have yet to figure this one out. When I get my FX cluster, I'll try that one, as other FX owners tell me their clusters display this. I don't think this was an option on the XLT clusters, and therfor why it does not display. My guess is that clusters have a memory chip that stores what/what isn't displayed.

At least we can bump this thread to get other possible answers.

I just can't believe that the XLT cluster wouldn't display "door ajar". Did it have another area that it could be displayed? Maybe some XLT owners will chime in. And yes Bucko please update about the FX cluster; if it all works out i might upgrade to one over the summer.

My XLT displays Door Ajar above the odometer where the compass and thermometer are normally displayed on the digital display.

Just throwing this out here, dont know if it means anything or not.
Is your cluster from a Supercab? Could it make a difference if you take a cluster from a scab and install it in a regular cab?

It's out of a XLT regular cab 4x4. So basicly the same as my truck with power windows and locks, and the bigger motor.
