The reason I was thinking about the rear window of the cap is If it should come off it wouldn't damage any paint.

The only thing I can find is a few numbers written on the black book it's self 86245 is the numbers

well then the dealer took it out and tossed, it. the dealer can get you the code, some charge, i have heard guys paying 50 bucks for it, but you just need the keypad and that code and you will be set. FYI after it's done, make SURE to add a 2nd code and use that one, you can NEVER change that code, so if it got in the wrong hands, your SOL.
