Default Need an idea...

Ok so I custom mounted tweeters in my door but with my edge evo they hit when I close the door. Has anyone custom mounted their evo somewhere else? I cut a hole for now in my evo case so the tweeter goes inside of it but it looks hillbilly and obviously the sound output is reduced. I attached a picture of where the tweeter is located. I can't move the tweeter cause there would be a hole there.

Well I don't have an ashtray so that is out of the question. I personally think a GPS mount will look tacky. I'm thinking about fiberglass or something so its flush with the dash somewhere.

Just curious, why didn't you just mount the tweeter in the factory location? It would of alleviated any crashing conditions.

you could make like a hinged door in the dash below the cigarette lighter, and have it open towards you, with the hinges on the bottom like your glove box is, or like you said make something for it on the dash, what about where the little coin holder is, you could cut that out and do something with that

At the time I wasn't planning on getting a programmer, and I wanted to be different.

I see, it does look good in the upper trim. Maybe you can get one of those Roush gauge pods and modify it for your tuner.

I was going to suggest the same location.

Fiberglass? If you are crafty, maybe you can fab up something for the center console, run the cord up behind the stereo. It would be like the roush/foose gauge that goes there. oh yea, Boiler UP!

i thought about modifying my evo pod to fit just to the left of the upper "tray" on top of the dash. the curve looks similar to the one where it normally mounts
