First, I don't understand your "interior" question. You made a statement, and not a question.

Second, while buying at an auction can net a good deal price wise, it's a crap shoot at best. Dealers send vehicles off to an auction for a reason. Either they already have enough of a particular brand/model used on their lot, the vehicle is not worth the retail price they might expect to sell it for on their lot, or it has already sat on their lot for some time without selling.

No warrantees to ask for, no known history of the vehicle, and you cannot take the vehicle for a test drive before buying (or have it checked out by a neutral mechanic before purchase).

So yep, a deal can be had, but a lot more lemons are possible too. For those reasons, I prefer to purchase from a larger dealer. I can then "deal" on a warrantee or have the vehicle checked out by a third party mechanic prior to purchase.
