Need Help with oil cooler line 06 Lariat
Hello Everyone
I have a problem with my 06 f-150 Lariat. The lower transmission oil cooler line was cut by the rubber protective cowl after 80k miles (line does not fit in the hole cutout but rather the slot which cut it over time). This line is ford part number 7C410, a $24 dollar line. When removing to replace one the new line both fitting broke. Now for the problem, going back to Ford they are telling me that I have to buy replacement oil cooler and radiator to get these fittings. That’s a parts total of a little over $600.00 to get 2 $5-10 fitting for a $24 dollar hose replacement. I have talked to ford parts direct and even though they show on there drawings part number 7D273A as the radiator side, they say they don’t sell it separate, only with the radiator. I have talked to the local dealers, Ford Parts, and Ford Customer Service and all say the same thing. I have also searched aftermarket suppliers on the net and the 2 local auto salvage yards with no luck. It’s ridiculous that my $40k Betty needs $600+ parts to fix a $24 line. Hope someone has some other ideas or suppliers that I might try.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for your reply GatorB8, I spoke with Dorman and this is for a 1/4" line, this line is 5/16" I also asked about a complete assemblybut they didn't make one for my make/model.

GATORB8 to the rescue! If that doesn't do it, I'd think a trip to the hardware store such as ACE would yield a brass fitting or two that will work. Threaded at one end, barbed at the other, then use a rubber hose with two clamps; one at the barbed fitted end, and one to hold the rubber line you slipped over the metal line that runs to the radiator. A hacksaw blade to cut the fitting end off the line to allow the rubber line to slip over it (if you cannot find a brass fitting to mate the line to cooler), then clean off any rough ends, then slide the rubber tube about 2 inches onto the line, then a hose clamp.
I basically did this when I installed an aftermarket trans cooler.

I was wondering if you had any luck finding part #7D273A, I am having the same issue for my 2006 Ford Explorer.
Thanks Jason

These fittings are available....
I know this is an old thread, but I know many are still having this problem.
I found a company that now have replacement cooler fittings for the radiator.

I've been having difficulty finding the oil cooler line to radiator fitting as well. After much searching and trial and error, I have hopefully found a solution. It seems the male threads used into the radiator are metric - m18x1.5 to be exact, and https://www.fmsiinc.com/index.html has come up with a solution for this issue. Search their site for I've ordered one from CarQuest here in Canada. Will try it out when I get it this week, fingers crossed. If the following link doesn't work, search their site for iten # 4555M http://catalog.fmsiinc.com/item/fmsi...chrysler/4555m
Hope this works, and helps!

I know Ford sells the connectors for the auxiliary transmission cooler for 04-08. The part number is YL3Z7D273AA.
As for the connectors on the radiator itself, still nothing from ford unfortunately. If it is M18-1.5, will this work for you?
