Default Need entire front end replaced?!

Okay so I noticed this screeching noise the other day....looked underneath and both IWE's are shot....So I'm assuming i'll need new cv shafts, wheel bearings, IWE actuators, and vacuum lines....This has come to a $600 tab from 1A AUTO. I'm almost ready to trade her in....In the last six months I've done universal joints, IWE solenoid, all new spark plugs and COP's, rear brakes, new rear axle seals, one new rear axle half shaft and bearing, etc etc etc. I love the truck but it's nickle and diming me to death. Need some input here....

Sounds like you knock the IWE’s out and the truck will go another 100K miles for you..are you the Original owner ?? how many miles on it ? plugs/COP’s/U-joints are all normal maintenance items...

I'm the third owner....but I bought the truck back in 2012 with 40,000 miles on it....the truck now has around 91,000. If it was just the IWE's I wouldn't be upset....but I have no idea how long they've been bad so I'm worried the splines on the cv shafts are gone too...and possibly the wheel bearings could be bad due to the screeching noise I've noticed lately....I'm also anticipating replacing the vacuum line....although I have never noticed a grinding noise from the IWE's trying to engage....

You will be fine with just replacing IWE actuators.. lwss then 200 for both. Rockauto

As long as everything else is good.. thereis no need to replace cv shaft or hub or lines

I'll check on it today...I'll pick up some new actuators...what's the best way to tell if the wheel bearing has gone bad? If there is any slop or play in it when it's off the ground?

Well turns out the passenger side wheel bearing was gone...so I put in a new IWE actuator, CV axle, and wheel bearing on the passenger side for around $400.00, Drivers side wheel bearing was still good, hopefully only needs an actuator. Will be tackling the drivers side today.

nah wheel bearings are easy....it's getting the strut disconnected when you have a leveling kit installed that makes changing the CV axle and actuator a bitch. If I wouldn't have had the leveling kit in there things would have went much smoother.....oh well....only 10 more payments and she's all mine for good...
