Default Those darn plugs...

My '07 5.4L SCAB has almost 25K miles on the original plugs. I've already changed the crappy motorcraft plugs once before in my mustang, but it only had about 6K miles on it at the time. I just took it slow and had no problems. I figure I'll tackle the F150 plugs now before they have a chance to get any more stuck than they probably already are. So, has anyone changed them as early as 25K miles in the F150 and did you run into any issues or did they come out clean?

What are people's experiences with the 1 piece plugs that aftermarket companies are making as replacements?

Also, if somone could link me to a site where I can buy the 1 piece plugs, it would be much appreciated.

The champion is one piece, the autolites listed in the link arent. There are other onepiece plugs out there including motorcraft.

I've been thinking of doing the same thing, I have about 28K on mine.

I thought Ford redesigned the 5.4's heads to fix that breakage problem around 07..maybe you got one of the redesigned.

That's good info. How can I find my truck's "born-on" date?

It tells you on the inside of the driver side door. Should be year and month. Mine was 02/07

In the top left corner my manufacturer's decal (inside the driver's side door) says "Date: 07/07", so I assume that's the born-on date. Hmmmm, does anyone know definitively if I have the old or new style plugs?

The door jamb sticker is for the final assembly for your truck. On the drivers side valve cover there is a sticker with the date for your engine.

Thanks. Engine build was on 6-27-07. So, anyone know if I've got the redesigned plugs?
