I don't know the weight aspect, but these new trucks are heavy. Is your 2005 F150 a Rcab, Scab or Screw? 4x4 or 4x2? Any options? Can you post up a pic of the truck?

From 80-89, the K-5 ranged in weight from about 4087-4878lbs. My '06 F150 Screw 5.4L 4x4 XLT weights roughly 500-1K lbs more.

A little info on these trucks, if you haven't already researched.

Dang Rainman, your truck looks sweet! I've been looking at black rims similar to those for a while. How do you like them? How'd you tint your tails to keep the reverse light clear? Is that hood for looks or is it functional?

Love this silver paint with black accents. Just need to tint my front windows and get black rims and think my truck will look much better.

i love the rims. at first i was looking at the pro comp 9001's but i couldnt get em and the moto metal 951's were the closest thing. i think i like em better now that i have em. i also seen some black mambas i like. you might wanna check them out too. as for the tail lights, i just used masking tape around the reverse lights and CAREFULLY trimmed it then sprayed nightshades over it. the hood, as of right now, is not functional. it will be soon though.

Sure would like to see how this one plays out Rainman. The 3.73's are an advantage as well as the smaller tires - but you should have better engine torque and slightly more weight. You'll both be in 4x4 I'd guess...interesting matchup.

Anything you can think of has already been done...and most likely youtubed.

Of course this K5 has lower gearing, but still... you could win... you could lose... so what. Personally, I would pop the tailgate get a beer and watch someone else thrash their truck because at the end of the night you know for sure your truck will take you home and more importantly to work on Monday so you can pay the bills and save more money to upgrade your truck instead of fixing it.

Tell him to come back when he's got something that's worth more than your tires.
