i'm looking to add some giddy-up to my truck. i have a 07' xlt v8 4.6...besides adding a simple bolt on intake and changing out the exhaust, what are some other parts that aren't to complicated to put on that will increase horsepower? i was looking into buying a tuner, but those things look pretty complicated and i really don't want to screw up my truck. thanks

well a tuner is your only other option---but it usually voids the warranty if you care...i see this all the time, buy the little motor and want more power, then will stick thousands in it to make it as fast as a 5.4...makes no sense to me

there are a few other add ons you could do to the 4.6 one is new pulleys and underdrive pulleys but add a cold air intake along with your throttle body it will def increase the giddy up you want but yeah the 5.4 is a beast i now own the 4.6 and wish i would of purchased the 5.4 instead but 4.6 saves you thousands when buyin off the lot

Well for what you spend in buying a tuner, exhaust, cold air intake, you could have just spend the extra 1000 bucks when it was new and have gotten the 5.4...actually my truck was only $395 extra to have the 5.4 with the tow and go discount....there is a reason the used trucks with 4.6's are cheaper, not that desirable...

it makes no sense to drop thousands into the 4.6 and it will never be the 5.4, people should shop around before buying
