Thanks Jones but is that it, do you need anything else for proper alignment of shafts or anything?

all you need is the kit, tools, and abot 2-3 hours. I have the ncd kit on my truck, not that hard to do. They do recommend getting a front wheel alignment after putting the kit in because it can change the toe on the front wheels. Be careful when tightening the nuts on top of the strut after intsall, I pinched a vacuum line and had to fix it. Also when you get everything back together make sure your vacuum lines to the hub are still connected. Could come off when you lower the a arms.

I'm really tempted to get one of these, but I've read on here that if you don't have a grill guard or bull bar, the 2" level may be better for you...any comments? 2007 XLT Supercab here.

I measured my fender gap and it's 2.75" in the rear on my FX4. I don't know if it's slightly more on the FX4 than other, but 2.5" should be almost perfect.

I would go through the instulation porceedure but thats a lot of typing.
In the short:
-Take off tire
-Take out bolt through control arm
-Take out bolts (3) at top of strut tower
-Take off bolts Ball joint (Be careful here, sometimes therotate on you and thats a B!tch)
-Bang down hte control arm
-Remove strut tower
-Place spacer on top in correct alignment. (there is only one way it fits so you will be sure to pick the right way)
-Do all of this in the reverse order

Now start the second tire....

Its pretty easy, IF you have the tools
Any trouble getting the ball joint free? I've run into issues there before and have thought about renting a ball joint removal tool. Also, any tips on keeping the ball joint stud from rotating? Thanks for the input.

You half to have a deep well 30mm socket for the bottom strut bolt. Thats is the only special tool needed.

The ball joint on mine came out pretty easy. We took the nut off and smacked the bottom stem with a hammer a couple of times and it came right out. This was actually said in the instructions. "smack stem with a small sledge hammer to loosen up". I chose to use a smaller hammer though. I have also heard that the removal tool can actually damage the boot if you aren't extremely careful.

I read that as well. I just bought the few tools that I didn't have (like the 30mm socket) and plan on tackling it tomorrow night... once I get the truck back from the dealer.
