Default Name that brake part (so I can replace it)

So while doing some maintenance on my 07 XL I noticed that it seems someone failed to reinstall, lost, broke or whatever a piece on the brake pads. There are two metal wire pieces, sort of triangular shaped. They plug into the brake pads themselves and I assume put tension on the pads to pull them back off the rotor when you let off the brake pedal. Can anyone tell me what these are called and if by chance new ones come with new brake pads? I hate to ask these simple stupid questions but I just need some info.

They come with a hardware kit, not with the pads themselves. (damned if I know what the "official" name of the part is, they're springs!)

BTW, they're not simple, stupid questions. It's learning, we all go through it.

Brake pad return or retainer springs, most likely.

The return springs are usually included in a 'Front Disc Brake Hardware Kit':

You mean those little metal things that plug into the back of the pads?
I just did a brake job on my truck and they weren't there when I took the old off, so they're not there with my pads.

It's best to have them on there. They are supposed to keep the pads from constantly dragging, to minimize wear, dust, and help with economy.
