Doesn't make sense why they wouldn't use it in the F150, though.

They did, in 09-10. My guess is they had a stockpile of them (2 valve variety) and kept them going into the F150 until they ran out or low.

Apologies for posting bad info - I should have looked closer.
4.6L phasers started in other vehicles in 2005.
Not in the F150 4.6L until 2009.

I have the 4.6L in an 06 and my mechanic told me I have a 3v??? He's never inside the engine, so to speak, but he usually knows what he is talking about.

It's a 2V the 3v 4.6 wasn't found in 04-08 f150s we have the same engine as the 01-04 Mustang GT

05-09 mustang got the 3V 4.6 f150 did only from 09-10.

Explorers also got the 3V 4.6 with the phasers - in the '06-10 models.

Definitely a 4.6 2v in that truck. Like everyone else said 3v only came to the f150 in 09-10
