So for the past year or so my 06 has had a rattle noise coming from the rear every time I went over bumps. For the longest time I thought it was coming from the bed (maybe the bed mounts?). I finally took it to the dealership today and come to find out the rubber bushing on the driver side rear shock has deteriorated and that is what was causing the rattle noise. I have a 6" lift kit from Rough Country and the shocks that came from them, so because they're aftermarket Ford can't replace the shock. My question is should I just order a replacement bushing and/or complete shock from Rough Country or should I order a new set of rear shocks from somewhere of better quality?

I hated my rough country shocks. I upgraded to rancho 9000s on my jeep and its night and day difference in ride. Id say get the new shocks

I think I will, but I don't know which ones to get. Will other brand shocks still work with the rough country lift? Stupid question I know. Haha. Also, I feel like the bushing deteriorated pretty quickly. I had the lift put on in December 2010.

Yeah most aftermarket brands will say 0-2" 4" or 6" of lift to make it easy to choose. Ranchos website offers that guide bilstein might also

Meaning there will be no crappy one size fits all bushing that rancho supplies... I even had clunking from "loose" bushings on my broncos rear rancho shocks. Bilsteins are a true, factory fit, with the painstakingly engineered ford factory bushings included on all their ford replacement shocks.

I had this problem too but I just got oem shock bushings and rancho 9000s. It still was less than the bilstein route. Granted we get rancho through uniselect at work for 5% over cost.. to bad they discontinued there 4" lift lol

Every lift I sell from rough country comes back for new rear shocks they're garbage $12 shocks, the n2.0's are no better. Spend the $45 a shock and get skyjackers well worth it believe me
