You can barrow a compression tester from Advanced or Auto Zone

I went and told the mechanic that he got the diagnosis wrong, and he is redoing it all for free as we speak. Also, when I tried to use the volt meter the other night, the pins were too big/dull for me to make contact with the wires. So I'll be adding a different meter to my list of needs.

That's a common problem with most meters... easy solution is to get a roll of stranded copper wire, cut two pieces a foot or two long, strip the ends, then use your fingernail to pull a strand or two from the rest of them and stick that into the connector, then touch your meter leads to the other end of that wire

It goes away with RPM, but comes back at certain RPM ranges. He checked the injector and plugs to make sure they were working and they were. He said the cylinder walls weren't washed. Passed the vacuum test and he's going to redo the compression test next (Had to stop yesterday since it was after closing time). We're all stumped.

Been searching the forums. One case was solved with a new valve spring(I PM'd him). You think that would be the cause of my problem?
