Default Mysterious bulb and wire

Ok so I bought a 2004 f150 extended cab 6.5 foot bed xlt in December of 2012 one owner now I'm the second. So I just took out the bed liner that has been in it ever since I got it and I found a lot of junk under it like mulch dirt and little bit of rock from when I used it to haul all of that but while sweeping it out I found a bulb that was in its socket that's a wire with a plug. I don't know where it came from and want to know... I have all my lights in my third brake light so it can't be in there but I found it at the front of the bed any help would be much appreciated!

Seems to be a Mopar part. High mount stop lamp from a Jeep Cherokee.

Here's a pic of the first time we put one on so it would keep weather out since the other one was smashed
