My truck shut itself off !!!
#11
My dads work truck had the same issue in his 06 F50 this last week. Had same symptoms as you, was going down road at about 60 and it just shut off. He had all the lights, no CEL light, but not even a click when he turned the key. We have also had it pretty crappy around here for weather lately. Bottom of his truck was snow/ice/slush packed. I just happened to be talking to him on the phone as he was letting it sit wit the bullet heaters blow under the truck and told him to check his FPDM once it thawed out. After it thawed overnight he checked it and said the thing was totally corroded and had packed full of ice/rocks/dirt and everything else. He ran to the auto parts store, and thankfully they had one in stock and he put it on and it fired right up. Makes us think there was some kind of short caused at the FPDM that disabled the whole truck.
I guess if the computer knows it wont get any fuel, it wont allow it to turn over???

Mine does the same thing. I have already replaced the FPDM because it was corroded. IMO the FPDM is probably a contributor, but not the issue. I have found that if I put in a bottle of Gumout Fuel Injector Cleaner every 3 months or so the problem doesn't happen. If I go 6 months without a bottle it starts to shut off. Definitely fuel system related.

If the FPDM has gotten so bad and it shorted out...it will blow fuse's ...also check ignition relay and fuse's...inspect the FPDM at least...

Update- Got her running again . Thank you all very much for your help ! All of you were spot on . The FPDM was so corroded that it shorted out and took fuse 32 with it .
I'm going to do another thread taking the whole process from start to end in hopes it will help others the way you all helped me .
