Can't say that I do, I left the club/area 8 years ago.

When ever I am back in the area I go and fly off fox brown rd in indiantown.

Haha, how can I be sure it's the exhaust manifold. I've heard of stuffing a rag in the tail pipe and listening... but the engine is so darn loud I doubt I'll be able to hear anything. I looked at it with a borescope, saw a tiny black deposit around one of the bolts.

Changing the right exhaust manifold on a 4.6 Explorer right now, it was very apparent. Funny thing is it only sounded funny at start-up. After 30-40 seconds it sounded normal. The two front studs were broken, that's gonna be fun.

Tell tale sign of a leaking exhaust manifold right there. As metal expands the leak gets smaller, hence quieter.

My leak developed pretty quickly and it never did sound like that though. It got so bad after a year that my truck sounded like a diesel knocking more that a gasoline engine. I have a loud exhaust and the leak was very apparent at start up and also under load when accelerating. Also, mine never threw a code either.
