Is my Oil Pressure Gauge Dead?
So I have myself a 2006 with a 5.4.
On the way home from work and on the way to a local F150 meet, my oil pressure gauge was between half and Low.
But when I started my truck after the meet, it didn't move. When I shut my truck off, the gauge will flutter but not move much.
It doesn't move when starting the truck or while it's running.
Everything else on the cluster works fine and I do not have any warning lights on. Truck is still running perfectly fine as well.
As you can see in the second picture, the needle is pointing below Low as if the truck is still off.
Any ideas what it could be?
Thanks in advance for any help.

I assume you have checked the oil level ... could be the sending unit located by the oil filter.

If you turn the key on and ground the sender wire the gauge should peg on "H". If not, its the gauge. The gauges are actually stepper motors and do occasionally fail.

Thanks for getting back to me guys.
I'll definitely check that stuff out.
Oil change was done a few days prior but as soon as it happened I checked my oil and it was fine.
Gauge has been coming and going recently. It barely stops working now.

This is a pretty common problem, mine works when it wants to. When it stops working, I can bang on the top of the dash above the cluster and it will start working again! I took the dash top off last week, and if I wiggle the connector on the driver's left just a little, it will start working again for a couple minutes. Have not gone further than that, but I am guessing a bad solder joint at the connector.

One thing you can try is to narrow down which prong it is and give it a little twist. This worked with my front driver speaker that would go in and out over bumps.

The cluster connectors at the dash are the kind that have a connector cover and lever such that I don't think you can get to the individual female pins from the wire side. I hope to diagnose mine a little more this weekend. I hope it is just an easy solder fix!
