Default My Nitto terra grappler review

Last october 2011 I bought some new nitto terra's 275/55/20 to replace the pirelli's. We had a really mild winter last year and only had a few snowfalls and the tire's seemed awesome! They were great in mud and held the road good. One snowfall we got 6-7'' and i drove everywhere in 2wd.They hooked up in all types of snow. This year we got 4'' of snow and they suck and even the mud traction isnt their anymore. Maybe it because they are down to 7/32nd and being a wide tire their floating instead of the snow and slush going through the channels of the tires. IDK!!! I need a tire for 90% Highway and 10% mud, gravel and good in snow. Thinking about some goodyear silent armors.

Unfortunately it sounds about right. Even when I was down to 9 or 10 32nds the same thing happned. I don't know anything about the Goodyears but the BFG all terrains are fantastic tires, but you have really pay for them.

Yokohama Geolander A/T's. I drive mostly suburb/city driving and have just over 33k miles on them. I figure I have about another 5k miles worth of tread left which I'm hoping I make it through winter with them.
At 90% highway driving I'm sure you could get 40k+ miles out of them.

I have the Terra Grapplers in the stock 20" size as well. mine are all at 9/32" but it seems like they went a long time without wearing at all, and now they're starting to die pretty quick. I'll be replacing them with a LT275/65R20 Toyo Open Country A/T II. I had the original of this tire 4 tires on various Grand Cherokees I've had and they were always awesome. I got over 60k out of one set and they were still at 5 to 6/32" when I replaced them. my next set of tires was actually the SilentArmors because I was able to get them for a deal but regardless of price I would much sooner buy the Toyos again. the problem most run into with the SilentArmor is terribly uneven wear once they're down past 50-60% tread.
